My name is Amy. I am a newlywed and I use that term lightly since we have kids together and been living out of wedlock (or in common law marriage state) for 5+ years when we finally tied the knot in September 2012.
We never truly had the moment of "meeting." Our dads and their siblings grew up as neighborhood friends and remained very good friends of my family throughout the years. Josh even asked me to dance with his brother at a wedding once when I was 17. I still find it amusing all these years later.
We have two children who manage to bring out the best in ourselves. Dalton (5), the petite, matter-of-fact, girly-girl and Zein (4), the “big” little brother, ornery, and thinks he is a jokester. They are the best of friends and truly enjoy each other.
I am a stay-at-home mom turned working mom (December 2011) and we’re still trying to find the balance in life with a husband who travels and works long hours, a mom that works 50+ hours a week and two kids along for the ride.
I am a former size 5 who lost the weight gain battle through back to back pregnancies and poor eating/fitness habits. I have recently hit 50 pounds weight loss, with 15 more pounds to go. This pretty much consumes my every thought as attempt to hit my goal of “fit by 30!”
So there’s where the Chasing 2nd Chances comes from. I feel every day is a 2nd chance to learn from all the mistakes I made yesterday.
